Job description
Position Description: The Nutrition Services Associate works as part of Rural Health Network’s Food as Medicine team to support the successful delivery of enhanced nutrition services provided under the New York State Medicaid Section 1115 Demonstration Waiver (the 1115 Waiver). The Nutrition Services Associate will work closely with the Food as Medicine Coordinator, Food and Health Network Director, VISTA member, and Finance Director to support day-to-day program operations, billing, and data entry and tracking for PRxPLUS, Rural Health Network’s medically tailored / nutritionally appropriate food prescription service.
This is a temporary grant funded position for approximately 12 months, with the possibility for continuation based on funding.
Classification: Non-Exempt, subject to the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act
Position Type & Hours: This position is full-time, primarily M-F 8:00-4:00, 35 hours weekly (70 hours biweekly, flexible schedule), overtime is not typical.
Salary / Pay Range: The salary range is $21-22/hr commensurate with experience.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Specific Responsibilities:
- Perform weekly eligibility checks for all members receiving enhanced nutrition services. Document status and communicate changes in status to all relevant parties in a timely manner.
- Prepare weekly mailings to distribute vouchers to members enrolled in the food prescription service.
- Communicate with newly enrolled members to confirm address and explain program utilization.
- Enter and maintain accurate records of food prescription box deliveries and voucher redemption data on a weekly basis using data tracking systems.
- Assist the Food and Health Network Director with weekly invoicing in the UniteUs platform, including preparing all required documentation.
- Work with the program team to identify opportunities to streamline operating systems and improve efficiency.
- Represent Rural Health Network at meetings and community events as needed.
- Support the Rural Health Network as a contributing team member dedicated to collaborating across programs, providing exceptional service to clients, stakeholders, and the larger community.
Work Environment/ Location: Rural Health Network office at 455 Court St. in Binghamton. Hybrid/ remote work options with supervisor approval.
Physical Demands: Position requires frequent use of a laptop computer. May require occasional lifting of boxes or program materials.
Travel: Position may require occasional travel to meetings, educational opportunities, or to partner vendors locations. Valid NYS Driver’s License and use of a private vehicle for work related purposes.
Minimum Qualifications:
Knowledge and Skills: Exceptional organization, attention to detail, and accuracy when entering and maintaining data and billing for services. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills. Strong task management and problem solving skills, and commitment to continuous process improvement. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, and to be self-motivated and able to work productively independently. High-level proficiency with Google Suite and Microsoft Office, particularly Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel, is required. Experience with UniteUs, and Qualtrics are beneficial
Education and Experience: Associate’s degree and one year of relevant experience OR three (3) or more years of relevant experience.
