Montgomery Place Orchards farm market, known historically as the “Wayside Stand” will be entering it's 40th season this year. It is the beehive for our family farm and greater farming community. We are a hyper-seasonal business, helping people feel the time of year through what we put on the shelves.

We grow around 75 apple varieties, pears, raspberries, grapes, some stone fruits, many kinds of vegetables, and flowers, and bring the rest in from 80-ish neighboring farms.

Job description

We are looking for a friendly, creative, hard-working team member with a great appreciation for local food and community to join our team.

Currently hiring for full-time employment 30-40hrs/week. We are open from May through November.

Job Summary:
In this role, you will help create a beautiful and welcoming shopping experience for customers while supporting daily operations such as stocking, merchandising, and customer service. You’ll work closely with fresh, local products and play an important part in keeping the market running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist customers with product selection, questions, and recommendations
• Design, build, and maintain attractive displays for produce, plants, baked goods, and retail items
• Refresh displays daily to ensure fullness, freshness, and visual appeal
• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system and handle transactions accurately
• Support team members and help with general market tasks as needed

Qualifications:

• Previous farm market, grocery, or food-service related experience
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs
• Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays

Work Environment:

• Outdoor work, in most weather conditions
  Active role requiring standing, walking, lifting, and multitasking
• Fast-paced, community-focused retail environment

Compensation
