Job description
Seasonal Private Chef — Summer 2026
Crivitz, WI | North Woods Lakefront
A multigenerational family is seeking a seasonal chef to join us for Summer 2026 at our lakefront property in the North Woods of Wisconsin.
This role is centered around thoughtful, seasonal cooking—preparing simple, delicious meals that bring people together. We value food that is ingredient-driven, unfussy, and well-executed, with an emphasis on fresh produce, local sourcing, and cooking with the rhythm of summer.
About the Role
You’ll be responsible for preparing family-style dinners five nights per week for a rotating group of family and guests (typically around 10 people, occasionally up to 40).
This is an ideal position for someone who enjoys stepping outside of a traditional restaurant environment and wants the space to cook with intention, consistency, and creativity.
You’ll have the opportunity to shape the menu, work with seasonal ingredients, and fully own the meal program—bringing your perspective and style to the table.
What You’ll Do
Plan and prepare seasonal, family-style dinners (Tuesday–Saturday)
Collaborate on menus while maintaining creative ownership of the program
Cook for groups ranging from 6 to 40 guests
Incorporate produce from an onsite garden and local purveyors
Adapt meals for dietary needs (gluten-free, vegetarian, etc.)
Oversee a small team assisting with prep, service, and cleanup
Manage kitchen organization, sourcing, and inventory
Coordinate occasional picnic-style meals or simple lunches
The Setting
You’ll be cooking in a well-equipped kitchen in a separate dining house on a private lake property.
When you’re not cooking, there is access to miles of trails for hiking, biking, and exploring, along with the quiet pace and natural beauty of a Northern Wisconsin summer.
Dates & Schedule
Memorial Day – Labor Day 2026
Dinner service 5 nights/week (Tuesday–Saturday)
Evenings only, with occasional additional meals planned in advance
Compensation & Housing

Private on-site housing provided
Who You Are
A cook or chef (culinary student through experienced) who cares deeply about seasonal, ingredient-driven food
Comfortable cooking for varying group sizes with flexibility and calm
Self-directed and organized, with the ability to manage a kitchen independently
Excited by the opportunity to live and work in a natural, rural setting
Someone who enjoys feeding people in a way that feels generous, thoughtful, and grounded
We are also open to a couple, where one partner serves as chef and the other supports in the kitchen or contributes to general property/ranch work.
