Delish is searching for a skilled Test Kitchen Assistant who will assist Delish’s Test Kitchen Manager in all tasks to help keep our test kitchen and studios clean, organized, and running smoothly. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced kitchen environment, is a skilled cook, and is genuinely excited by Delish’s content.

This is a contract position with a 35-hour a week limit.

What you’ll do:
• Assist test kitchen manager
• Help ensure kitchen is running smoothly and efficiently
• Assist on photo & video shoots
• Test & develop recipes, as assigned
• Keep back of house organized and clean
• Maintain studios
• Put away and organizing groceries each week
• Shop for groceries when necessary
• Organize and prep (mise en place) ingredients for use in shoots.

Who you are:
• Someone who works well on their own and can anticipate what needs to be done.
• Enjoys organizing and keeping a system.
• A positive can-do attitude with a team mentality.
• This person along with the manager is supporting the whole food team and will be a go-to person for questions for the staff and freelancers about groceries and supplies.
• Testing recipes and assisting on shoots will be a big part of the role so someone who is comfortable in the kitchen with both cooking and baking and can help troubleshoot while keeping detailed notes.
• A skilled cook with experience working in a professional kitchen, and/or a graduate of a professional culinary program.
• Organizational awareness: understands efficiency and detail in the context of a test kitchen environment.
• An eye for making food “camera ready”
• A lover of fast-paced, collaborative environments.

Compensation

this position is: hourly, $16.50 - 20/hr
