Facilities, Inventory and Receiving (F.I.R.)
Pixie Scout Workplace Food Services: Etsy (Part-Time, Onsite)
Pixie Scout is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented food professional for a Facilities, Inventory and Receiving (F.I.R.) role, as part of our Workplace Food Services team at Etsy.
Pixie Scout’s Workplace Food Services team prepares and serves a range of breakfast and lunch items for Etsy employees, served in “grab-and-go” and buffet-style services, as well as operating a building-wide Pantry Program that offers a wide variety of snacks and beverages. We work in well-appointed kitchens and servery spaces in Etsy’s green, bright, and modern offices in Dumbo, Brooklyn.
This F.I.R. role is a part-time position, responsible for receiving + distribution, inventory management, storage organization, and the onsite flow of all equipment, culinary tools, and food product.
A qualified F.I.R. candidate is an engaged logistical thinker and effective communicator, confidently knowledgeable in food safety, and with a professional client-facing demeanor.
Duties include:
- Organizing and maintaining kitchens, storage areas, and walk-in fridges
- Inventorying, rotating, and reporting stock level information to managers to support proper inventory management
- Supporting the Pantry program by: stocking products, brewing coffee, replacing kegs and CO2 canisters, cleaning service spaces and equipment, and communicating frequently with managers and F.I.R. + Pantry team Brewing coffee, swapping kegs, + restocking Pantry areas as needed
- Coordinating and communicating with FIR + Pantry team
Receiving: unloading, inventorying, sorting and settling deliveries
- Fulfillment + distribution: collecting, inventorying, and loading items onto delivery vehicles as needed
- Managing the flow of equipment, culinary tools, and food product between our various culinary + servery spaces
- Washing uniforms, towels, and aprons onsite
Occasionally assisting with catering tickets, dishwashing, and cleaning projects

You are:
- Communicative – you are able to follow instructions; communicate clearly with the team to ensure smooth service, and are ready to ask questions and ask for help when needed.
- Clean and fastidious – you are diligent about proper hygiene and maintaining a clean, orderly kitchen; familiar with and compliant to DOHMH standards and policies; and detail-oriented in the execution of tasks.
- Self-motivated – you are able to independently identify and prioritize tasks; comfortable working with and without direct supervision; motivated to move through tasks quickly; flexible and adaptable in technique and workflow so as to “work smart, not hard”.
- Punctual and present – you begin your workday with an eagerness to stay on top of, and even get ahead of, the production schedule and food service flow.
- Professional and supportive – you demonstrate professionalism and respect in and out of the kitchen at all times as a representative of Pixie Scout; you treat team members with care, and seek out ways to help and support your team.
Job requirements:
- 1+ years of relevant professional experience (as porter, steward, janitor, dishwasher, and/or cook)
- A desire to learn and grow as a member of the food team
- Understanding and adherence to NYC DOHMH standards and policies (Food Protection Certificate preferred)
- Able to stand for at least 8 hours and complete tasks that may require lifting up to 50 lbs.
Job details:
- Part-Time/Full-Time positions available (8-hour shifts no earlier than 7 AM and no later than 6 PM, Monday - Friday, 24/40 hours per week)
- Starting pay: $21.63/hr
