Company description
Attean Lake Lodge is a family-owned, off-grid island lodge in the remote North Woods of Maine. Originally established as a sporting camp in the late 1800s, the lodge has evolved into a modern, all-inclusive retreat while still holding onto its roots — simple cabins, woodsmoke in the air, and days shaped by the lake.
Guests arrive by boat and unplug quickly. There’s no Wi-Fi in the cabins, limited cell service, and a natural rhythm to each day — morning coffee on the porch, afternoons on the water, and evenings gathered in the lodge for shared meals.
Food is a central part of the experience here. We serve three meals a day for guests, balancing efficiency with care — think fresh, satisfying, thoughtfully prepared meals that feel elevated but approachable. Our kitchen is small, fast-paced, and highly collaborative.
Our team lives and works on the island together. It’s a unique environment — equal parts hard work and incredible setting. Staff become part of the experience for guests, creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere that keeps people coming back year after year.
This is a place for people who want to learn, contribute, and be part of something a little different — where the work is real, the setting is beautiful, and the experience is unforgettable.
