Farmers Against Hunger is the flagship program of New Jersey Agricultural Society a 501 (c) (3) organization that rescues fresh New Jersey produce from farms across the state of New Jersey and distributes this produce to partner organizations that feed underserved communities in NJ.
Job description
As the Transportation Coordinator at Farmers Against Hunger you are the face of the organization and truly represent our mission of serving people fresh, nutritious produce.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct pre-trip inspections on trucks to ensure they are fit to drive safe and legally
- Load and unload produce from trucks using a forklift
- Operate pallet jacks and liftgates to move produce on and off trucks
- Drive produce from farms across the state of New Jersey to food banks, food pantries and distribution sites
- General maintenance of the facilities and grounds
- Ability to work as a team in a small team environment
- Strong communication skills with team members, partner organization and management
- Reports to the Logistics Coordinator
Qualifications and Experience:
- Must possess a clean and valid New Jersey drivers license (CDL not required)
- Successfully fulfill the requirements for the DOT physical evaluation
- Experience driving 22 foot box trucks
- Have the ability to lift 50+ pounds
Compensation
this position is: hourly, $20/hr +
