Higgins Beach Market is looking for a Seasonal Market Manager!

The Big Tree Hospitality Team is gearing up for another season of bringing exceptional service and made from scratch food to this quaint little market that serves the Scarborough and Cape Elizabeth beach communities from May to September.

The Market Manager will provide day-to-day oversight of all aspects of the Market including hiring, training, and management of staff, maintaining inventory, as well as jumping in with the team to work on the floor or in the kitchen and ensure smooth service.

The ideal applicant will be hard-working, detail oriented, and have a positive attitude with prior management experience in a kitchen, preferred. This is a seasonal full-time position; weekend and summer holiday availability is a must.

Responsibilities Include:

• Interview, hire and terminate staff, completing all required paperwork and documentation
• Lead, create, and improve new hire and shift leader training and orientation, working jointly with GM of Markets
• Assist with seasonal opening and closing of the Market
• Create and distribute staff schedule, weekly review of timecards and cash outs, and timely paycheck distribution
• Conduct ongoing product ordering with various food and beverage distributors as well as logo merch
• Enter new products into Toast and price all items in store

Qualifications Include:

• At least 3 years proven Customer Service/Management experience (preferred)
• At least 5 years kitchen experience (preferred)
• Fluent in English language (writing, reading, and speaking)
• Basic understanding of health and safety codes, liquor laws and food and beverage knowledge
• Knowledge of basic cooking procedures, recipes and knife skills
• POS experience (Toast a plus)
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Dropbox, Inventory Systems
• Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively

Compensation

this position is: salaried, varies DOE, $59,000.00 - $65,000.00
