Located in Catskill, NY, Six Hands Farm Store is a collaboration between The Lo Farm and Nimble Roots Farm. The store serves as a hub for our organically grown produce and flowers, as well as a curated selection of other local goods, including meat and eggs. We will be open Thursday-Monday, 10am-6pm.

Job description

The Store Clerk plays a key role in the daily operations of the farm store, ensuring shelves are well-stocked, produce is displayed beautifully, and customers have a welcoming and helpful experience. This is a hands-on role that combines retail, light physical work, and customer interaction.

We are hiring for two part-time positions, each 25 hours/week:
Opener 9am-2pm and Closer 1:30pm-6:30pm.

Store Clerk Responsibilities
-Stock produce, refrigerated, and freezer items as needed
-Organize shelves and maintain a clean, appealing store layout
-Monitor product quality, especially produce, and refresh displays to keep items looking their best
-Keep produce displays full, abundant, and visually appealing
-Operate the register using the GrownBy point-of-sale system (training provided)
-Interact with customers and answer questions
-Open the store by stocking products and preparing for the day
-Close the store by putting produce into the walk-in cooler, sweeping/vacuuming, and mopping
-Communicate with farm store managers regarding inventory, issues, or important updates
-Help maintain accurate inventory lists

Qualifications
-Previous retail or customer service experience required
-Basic knowledge of vegetable identification and willingness to learn how to help customers with produce selection, preparation, and storage tips
-Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
-Reliable, organized, and comfortable working independently

Compensation
-$20–$22 per hour, depending on experience
-20% employee discount on store items
-Free “seconds” (imperfect but usable produce)
-NYS Sick Leave: accrued at 1 hour per 30 hours worked, up to 40 hours unpaid per calendar year
-Paid Time Off: 2 paid days off after 3 months of employment

Compensation

this position is: hourly, varies DOE, $20.00 - $22.00
