Position: Garden Coordinator at Springwater Environmental Sciences School
Direct Reporting to: Principal
Position Description
Springwater Environmental Sciences School is a public charter school located in rural Oregon City. Giving all students regular opportunities to experience and explore the natural world is central to the mission of Springwater. Our garden program is an important component in creating this connection. We are looking for a garden coordinator who has experience with small scale organic farming and working with kids in nature. This person will plant, maintain and harvest the school garden and coordinate maintenance on the smaller natural areas around campus. The School Garden Coordinator will collaborate with K-8th grade teachers to teach weekly garden lessons that connect to grade-level standards, with each student spending 25-30 hours in garden education per school year. Classes will have 10-13 students.
We are seeking an individual who would work 16 hours a week during the school year and 8 hours a week during the summer.
Compensation
this position is: salaried, $35,568* - $50,000
