We love supporting American cheesemakers, as well as other artisan food producers nationwide and smaller-scale traditional cheesemakers worldwide. We forge relationships with small farms, cheesemakers, importers, and distributors to bring you the finest cheese and specialty foods available. Our goal is to curate the best examples of classic European cheeses we can find and the most delicious New World cheeses being made today. The cheese has to be delicious, but equally important, it must be made in traditional ways and honor the animals, the land, and the people who work it.

Job description

Are you an experienced cheesemonger tired of making sandwiches? Do you long to develop your skills and establish genuine relationships with your customers and the best producers and importers in the cheese business? Do you want to be supported by your employer in this quest? We are hiring experienced cheesemongers for our Cos Cob, CT location. Cos Cob is serviced by Metro-North Railroad from Grand Central Terminal.

We are looking for hard-working, responsible, and passionate people to join our cheesemonger team in Cos Cob, CT. (Greenwich). Full-time positions are available. Excellent customer service skills are a must. A passion for cheese and good food is ESSENTIAL.

We are willing to sponsor you to take either the American Cheese Society's Certified Cheese Professional (CCP) exam or the TASTE exam after one year with us. Our shop is a cheese shop first. 50% of all our sales are CUT TO ORDER CHEESE!

Compensation

this position is: hourly, varies DOE, $19.00 - $20.00
