Company description

Job description
Social Media Coordinator
Joint Venture · Hudson Valley (local hire)
Part-time freelance · ~3–5 hours per week · Apply rolling
The role
Joint Venture is hiring a Social Media Coordinator to bring a consistent, considered presence to Instagram. We've got a decade of beautiful event photography in the archive, a kitchen that lives by the season, and a chef-founder whose garden, orchard, and ingredients are part of the story. What we need is someone with the eye and the discipline to translate all of that into a regular posting rhythm — and the local proximity to capture new imagery from the kitchen, garden, and Hudson Valley events as they happen.
This is a small, focused role. The right person is a local creative with strong visual instincts who's looking for steady, flexible freelance work alongside their other projects.
What you'll do
Run a consistent posting rhythm. 1–2 Instagram posts per week, plus stories, drawing on the existing photo archive (a decade of organized wedding and event imagery) and new content you help capture.
Capture new imagery. Spend time at the kitchen and garden as the season requires — herbs, flowers, prep, ingredients, the small visual moments that don't show up in event galleries. Occasional on-site capture at Hudson Valley events as scheduling allows.
Develop the visual language. Help define what Joint Venture's feed looks and feels like — color, pacing, what shows and what doesn't. Build a simple content calendar and stick to it.
Light community management. Reply to DMs and comments in a way that sounds like Joint Venture. Flag inquiries for the operations team to follow up on.
Who you are
Hudson Valley / Delaware County -based and able to drive to the kitchen and garden when needed. This role is local, not remote.
Visually fluent. You have a strong personal eye — your camera roll is a portfolio, and you know how to shoot good iPhone, digital, and film images of food, flowers, and people in soft natural light.
Comfortable on Instagram as a craft, not just a habit. Familiar with stories, reels, scheduling tools, and what's currently working in food and lifestyle accounts.
Reliable and self-directed. This is a small role with a lot of trust — you don't need to be managed week-to-week.
Drawn to food, gardening, hospitality, or the upstate creative scene. The work goes better when you actually like the subject matter.
Looking for a steady freelance project alongside other work, not a stepping stone to a full-time corporate social role.

Compensation: Monthly retainer in the range of $600-$750, calibrated to experience, paid monthly.
