The Benson Place is a woman-owned and run regenerative farm in the hilltowns of Western Mass that focuses on organic, nutrient dense farming using permaculture principles. We tend over 50 acres of lowbush blueberries, raise chickens, dairy goats in a chestnut and elderberry silvopasture system and grow produce in a small, biointensive, no-till market garden.
Job description
Description: The Benson Place is hiring a wild blueberry production assistant to work with our small crew for the 2026 season. The wild blueberry production assistant will be in charge of applying organic nutrient-dense foliar sprays and collecting leaf samples for sap analysis in the blueberry fields, performing blueberry field maintence tasks, moving electic fencing and milking goats in the afternoons as well as stocking our farm stand with produce and other products. Occasional work with poultry and vegetables as well.
Housing and food/ meals are potentially available as well. Please inquire for details if you are interested in this option.
Requirements:
Driver's license (driving manual a plus)
Agricultural Experience
Interest in growing great quality nutrient-dense food
Stamina, ability to lift and carry 50 pounds in a backpack sprayer (some spraying done with pumps and some with backpacks).
Strong work ethic
Commitment for the season
Positive, solution oriented attitude and good communication skills
Ability to work in inclement weather when needed
Hours:
5 days a week 6:30 am- 3:30 or 4:30 with 1-1.5 hours of unpaid breakfast/lunch break time depending on your preferences.
Season: May 1st through end of October
Compensation: $20/ hr
