Julie's is a multi-award winning cafe specializing in organic coffee, loose-leaf herbs & tea, and healthy eats. We offer garden patio seating, community events, art exhibits, wellness workshops and more.
Julie's opened January of 2005. We've expanded our food menu to include wholesome and unique offerings, many of which are geared toward those with food allergies and diet preferences. (eg: vegan, gluten-free, grain-free, paleo, sugar-free, etc.)

Job description
Julie's is looking to hire a part-time baker to support cafe needs & head baker in production. At Julie's we create all of our baked goods in house, including biscuits, scones, muffins, quick breads, cookies, and more
Example of job duties:
- Opening kitchen and doing morning bake of all pastries for cafe
- Assesses daily needs for production
- Follows recipes, directions, and requests of kitchen manager and head baker
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks
- Communicate daily flavors, pars, etc with FOH & others as needed
- Responsible for following standardized recipes, portioning of cookies, decoration garnish, and maintaining Pastry Par stock
Job Requirements:
- Able to work weekends & at least one of, if not both of the following days: Wednesdays & Thursdays
- ability to regularly lift 50 lbs
- Enjoy working in a fast paced environment
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
The ideal candidate:
- is detail oriented: baking requires attention to detail, from getting the proper measurements, to portioning consistently, to decorating & putting finishing touches on products
- good work ethic: you can work without supervision, can be relied on to complete tasks in a timely manner, and keep your space clean and organized
- a good communicator: you know how to speak up when something requires attention, know when to ask for help, communicate clearly and effectively with your teammates, and follow standards around taking time off & calling out of work
- kindness comes naturally to you: we take a kindness first approach to how we do things at Julie's. That means being genuine and compassionate in your interactions
- You have a passion for baking & want to learn more

Compensation
this position is: hourly, varies DOE, $17.46 - $20.00
