We are always looking to deepen our commitment to exceptional cheese and the producers, affineurs, and importers who make it possible — and to share that passion with our customers and community.

Our current cheesemonger is moving across the country, but will be here to onboard you before their departure so you can hit the counter running.

We are looking for someone to lead our cheese program. This position serves as our primary cheesemonger and cheese buyer, responsible for curating and maintaining a selection that reflects both the breadth of the world's great cheesemaking traditions and the specific tastes of our Back Bay clientele. The role also carries responsibility for Bacco's social media presence — we want someone who can translate their enthusiasm for great cheese (and food and drink more broadly) into content that feels genuine, knowledgeable, and a little fun.

Typical daily tasks include cutting, wrapping, and merchandising cheese, fielding customer questions and building plates and pairings, receiving and rotating product, placing orders with our import and domestic partners, and developing new vendor relationships. On the content side, you'll manage our Instagram and contribute to broader marketing efforts alongside our GM.

This is a fast-paced retail environment and a highly customer-facing role, so warmth, confidence behind the counter, and the ability to work efficiently are all essential. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends is required. We welcome applicants with a background in specialty cheese retail, strong communication skills, and a genuine desire to grow their craft — and who take pride in the quality they bring to Bacco's every day.

this position is: salaried, varies DOE, $50,000.00 - $55,000.00
