Farm Manager
A diversified heritage farm in the Hudson Valley is seeking an experienced Farm Manager to lead daily operations across livestock, market garden, woodland management, and supporting hospitality coordination. The Manager reports directly to the owner and holds operational authority for the property.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily operations across all production areas including pasture-raised livestock, market garden, and woodland management
- Manage breeding programs, animal health protocols, and herd records
- Hire, train, and supervise farm staff and seasonal hands
- Oversee feed sourcing, pasture rotation, and infrastructure maintenance
- Coordinate with hospitality operations on guest experience touchpoints
- Manage relationships with veterinarians, farriers, foresters, processors, and other service providers
- Develop and execute production plans, harvest schedules, and operational budgets
- Maintain records for regulatory compliance, breed registries, and operational planning
- Coordinate wholesale relationships and direct-to-consumer sales operations
- Ensure adherence to commercial-grade specifications and regenerative practices throughout
Qualifications
- 4+ years progressive farm management experience, ideally on diversified operations
- Demonstrated experience with multiple livestock species and breeding program management
- Strong leadership and staff management track record
- Working knowledge of pasture-based systems, rotational grazing, and regenerative agriculture
- Familiarity with conservation breed work preferred
- Experience coordinating with hospitality or agritourism operations a plus
- Self-directed, decisive, and able to manage competing priorities
- Commitment to long-term operational excellence and animal welfare

this position is: salaried, $75,000 - $100,000
