Bev’s Bagels is hiring an Operations Manager!
Bev’s Bagels was founded in 2023 and opened our first brick-and-mortar location in 2025. We’re passionate about our organic and sourdough bagels, high quality scratch made sandwiches, and warm hospitality. As we look to expand into multiple locations in 2026 and beyond, we are hiring for a new role to help build scalable systems, lead teams, and support day-to-day operations across our baking, retail, wholesale, and catering departments.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who loves both kitchen and front of house environments, cares about providing excellent service (to customers and staff), and thrives in a hospitality-focused environment. The ideal candidate is excited about building structure within a growing business. The Operations Manager will work closely with ownership to improve efficiency, maintain product quality, and ensure that our operations meet key metrics.
This role offers strong growth potential as we expand into multiple locations over the next several years. Ownership is actively involved in day-to-day operations and committed to building sustainable systems as we scale. Help build a growing food brand from the ground up!
Qualifications
5 years of experience in kitchen management.
Experience with baking and bakery operations, including familiarity with baking procedures and equipment is preferred.
Experience with relevant computer software including inventory management, scheduling, ordering, and Toast.
Familiarity with basic restaurant financial metrics.
Job Responsibilities
Operations and Production
Oversee prep schedules to meet daily demand while minimizing waste.
Monitor products to ensure they meet our standards for consistency, flavor, texture, and visual appeal.
Oversee the cleaning, maintenance, and safe operation of all equipment.
Team Leadership
Recruit, train, onboard, and manage the performance of staff.
Build staff schedules to support production goals, morale, and labor cost targets.
Foster a positive work environment and motivate the team to meet company targets.
Systems and growth
Maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) across all departments.
Help streamline systems as the company grows.
Enforce strict adherence to food hygiene regulations and health authority codes
Monitor labor and food costs to maintain healthy prime cost targets aligned with company goals.
Time Commitment:
This is a full-time role that can include early mornings and weekends. The typical schedule is approximately 45–55 hours per week depending on operational needs.
Based in Detroit, MI with travel to future locations in Metro Detroit and Ann Arbor.
Compensation:
Base salary $80,000 with bonus opportunities tied to operational and financial goals
