We are certified organic farm on 55 acres of meadow, woods and black dirt growing fields. We grow a wide variety of certified organic vegetables and herbs. Our growing season continues from spring through November. We are proud of making a meaningful contribution by offering healthy food choices to our community through our CSA's, farm stand and local markets.
Job description
Our tasks involve a wide variety of activities from seeding trays in the greenhouse, planting in the fields and maintaining crop health through weeding, pruning and irrigation. Harvesting, preparing and packing vegetables and herbs for sale is nearly continuous throughout the season. Depending on the season, some tasks can be repetitive or tiring. Our crew works under the direction of our experienced farm manager, Samantha and the farm owners, Bradley and Cathy. Experience is helpful but not required for anyone interested in being part of the process of bring good food from seed to market and willing to learn.
Our crew members must be energetic and able to remain active throughout the day with appropriate breaks. Sometimes we work independently. Most of our work is outdoors and we sometimes need to work in less than ideal weather. We expect our crew members to dress sensibly for that day’s conditions. Advice and material assistance will be provided as needed.
Hours are 9 to 5 pm for 4 or 5 days per week Monday through Friday. We are willing to consider other part time hours on an individual basis. Candidates must provide their own transportation to the farm. Pay is hourly from $17 to $19 depending on experience. Payment is made weekly by check or direct deposit. All employees enjoy access to vegetables distributed on a regular basis at no cost.
