Company description
The Farm Alliance of Baltimore (FAB) is a membership organization of urban farms, neighborhood growers, and community supporters working to build a healthy and equitable food system through urban agriculture. FAB is developing a multi-tier urban agriculture training pipeline that includes introductory workshops, cohort-based farmer training, and an emerging farm business incubator to support the next generation of growers in Baltimore.
Job description
We’re seeking an Urban Agriculture Education Manager to lead and grow the Black Butterfly Urban Farming Academy (BBUFA), Farm Alliance of Baltimore’s urban agriculture education and training initiative.
The Urban Agriculture Education Manager provides strategic and operational leadership across a multi-tier training pathway designed to support Baltimore’s next generation of growers. Through introductory workshops, cohort-based farmer training, and an emerging farm business incubator, BBUFA equips new and aspiring farmers with the skills, knowledge, and support needed to thrive.
This role oversees program design, implementation, participant support, evaluation, and partnerships to ensure high-quality, mission-aligned programming. Several program components are still being developed, making this an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys building systems, refining programs, and helping shape the future of urban agriculture education in Baltimore.
The ideal candidate brings strong experience in program management, community-based education, workforce development, or related fields. Agricultural experience is a plus but not required. What matters most is a commitment to community-centered learning, equitable access to opportunity, and building a just and sustainable food system.
