Position: 2026 Seasonal Assistant Winemaker / Harvest Hand
Classification: Full-Time, Temporary, Non-Exempt
Term: Seasonal position expected to run approximately 19 weeks (commencing the first week of August 2026 through the third week of December 2026).
Job Duties & Expectations:
You will perform the duties of an Assistant Winemaker for the duration of the 2026 harvest season, under the direct supervision and standards set by the CEO/Winemaker. Duties include, but are not limited to: cellar cleaning and organization, product bottling, fruit processing (destemming, pressing, transfers, punch downs/pump overs), laboratory analysis, and interstate fruit transport/driving runs to New York and Vermont.
Operational & Physical Requirements
- Licensure: You must maintain a valid driver’s license and auto insurance. Employment is contingent upon successful clearance of a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check. Any change in licensure status must be reported to the CEO immediately.
- Certifications: Valid Massachusetts forklift handler certification is required prior to the start date.
Physical Demands: Must be able to lift and move heavy weights (50+ lbs.) and remain standing/performing strenuous physical labor for extended shifts (potentially exceeding 12 hours per day during peak harvest, subject to applicable overtime).
- Scheduling: Must be willing and able to work non-standard, unpredictable hours, including weekends, holidays, and potential overnight shifts as dictated by fruit maturity and production needs.
Compensation & Hours
Rate of Pay: $25 per hour, paid on the Company’s regular payroll schedule, subject to all applicable taxes and withholdings.
Time Tracking: You are required to accurately record and submit all hours worked daily using the Company’s designated time-tracking system.
At-Will Employment
Employment with Marzae is "at-will." This means that either you or the Company may terminate the employment relationship at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Nothing in this summary or the projected 19-week harvest window constitutes a guarantee of continued employment for any specific duration.
Post-Season Transition
At management’s sole discretion, following the conclusion of the harvest season, you may be considered for transition to a permanent role (combining Front of House and operational duties). Any such transition is entirely optional and contingent upon business needs and performance.
Contingencies & Company Policies
This offer is summary in nature. Final employment is contingent upon the execution of Marzae’s standard Employee Confidentiality and Intellectual Property Assignment Agreement, as well as adherence to all Company operating policies.
Compensation
