Company description
We are building a new nonprofit institute focused on regenerative agriculture, land stewardship, hospitality, and education on a historic 300-acre campus in Central Arizona. We are seeking an exceptional storytelling human to join the founding team and work directly alongside the Executive Director at this pivotal stage.
This is a rare opportunity to help build an organization from the ground up while living and working on a remarkable (Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired) historic campus surrounded by stunning ranch land, gardens, and open space. It's truly a storyteller's dream.
Why This Role Is Different
- Housing provided on campus
- Work directly with executive leadership
- Join the founding team of a growing institute
- Opportunity to help shape systems, culture, and operations
- Diverse work spanning Arizona agriculture networks, events, hospitality, partnerships, and special projects
- Beautiful rural Arizona setting with easy access to Sedona, Phoenix, Prescott, and Flagstaff
- Significant growth potential as the organization expands
The campus includes more than a hundred existing buildings (homes, dorms, dining hall, library, classrooms, etc.) and infrastructure that once supported a long-standing educational institution. We're reimagining and bringing this (Hogwarts vibes, but make it Western 1930s) campus back to life through a new vision and operating model.
While we are in an early stage of development, building systems and programs from the ground up, we are doing so within the context of a nearly 100-year legacy of land stewardship on this property. This dual reality, a new enterprise emerging within an established physical campus and a deeply rooted history, shapes how we approach both our work and our community.
Our model integrates hands-on learning, hospitality, and land stewardship.
We are a small, dedicated team building something meaningful within an already remarkable physical setting, and we are looking for people who want to contribute to that process.
Job description
Storytelling & Hospitality Coordinator
Full-Time | $40,000–50,000 DOE + On-Site Housing & Utilities
Central Arizona High Desert Campus
Do you love telling stories through photography and video?
Are you energized by meaningful work, beautiful places, and interesting people?
Would you rather document a farm harvest, volunteer workday, or community gathering than spend your days behind a desk?
We're seeking a talented visual storyteller to join our growing team and help document the revitalization of a historic Southwestern campus being transformed into a center for regenerative agriculture, ecology, hospitality, arts, and place-based education.
This is part content creator, part hospitality coordinator, and part campus ambassador.
You'll live and work on a remarkable high-desert campus, helping capture daily life while welcoming visitors and sharing the story of a place dedicated to stewardship, learning, and community.
About the Role:
We're looking for someone who notices the moments others miss.
Someone who can tell a compelling story through a camera lens, create engaging short-form videos, and help people understand why this work matters.
You'll spend your days documenting campus projects, gardens, workshops, restoration efforts, seasonal rhythms, special events, and the people who make them possible.
The visual style we're drawn to is authentic, educational, hopeful, and human — less polished marketing campaign and more documentary storytelling.
Think beautiful, thoughtful content that helps people connect with food, farming, ecology, craftsmanship, hospitality, and place.
Responsibilities:
Content Creation & Storytelling
- Photograph daily life across the campus
- Capture restoration projects, agricultural work, workshops, volunteer efforts, and special events
- Film and edit short-form videos for social media
- Document seasonal changes, campus improvements, and behind-the-scenes moments
- Create engaging educational content that explains farming, food systems, land stewardship, and regenerative practices in accessible ways
- Build and maintain a library of photo and video assets
- Occasionally travel off-site to document partner projects, field trips, conferences, or special events
Hospitality & Guest Experience
- Welcome visitors, partners, donors, educators, and special guests
- Assist with campus tours and events
- Help guests feel informed, comfortable, and connected to the mission
- Serve as a friendly and knowledgeable ambassador for the campus
- Support occasional retreats, workshops, volunteer weekends, and community gatherings
Communications Support (Preferred but not required)
- Write captions, newsletters, blog posts, and website content
- Assist with storytelling for fundraising, partnerships, and public communications
- Help maintain a consistent voice across social and digital platforms
Qualifications
Required:
- Strong photography skills
- Videography and video editing experience
- Ability to create compelling content for Instagram, YouTube, and other social platforms
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Comfortable living and working in a rural environment
Preferred (or willing to learn):
- Copywriting or blogging experience
- Drone photography/videography
- Documentary filmmaking experience
- Hospitality or event experience
- Interest in agriculture, food systems, ecology, conservation, education, or community-building
You Might Be a Great Fit If You:
- Love visual storytelling
- Are curious about how things work and enjoy learning new subjects
- Enjoy meeting people and making them feel welcome
- Appreciate beautiful places and meaningful work
- Can switch between filming a garden project, helping host a visiting donor, and editing a video in the same day
- Want to help build something from the ground up
Compensation & Benefits:
$40,000–50,000 annual salary, depending on experience
On-site housing provided
Utilities included
Opportunity to live and work within a unique historic campus community
Access to workshops, educational programming, and special events
The chance to help document and shape a project with long-term impact
