Job description
30-35% | Program Design & Strategic Planning Lead full design and launch of a comprehensive Farm to School program across five core areas: Nutrition education, Farmer led education, Local food procurement, Culinary experiences, Community engagement
Develop multi-year implementation plan aligned with USDA grant goals and reporting requirements
Convene and lead a Farm to School advisory committee (schools, farmers, partners)
Build detailed curriculum frameworks for all program components
20-25% | Program Implementation & Operations Execute all programming activities including: Monthly cooking classes (18 annually) Farmer Meet & Greets (2+ per year) School-based and afterschool workshops
Ensure programming reaches 1,000+ students annually
Coordinate logistics: Supplies and equipment procurement Scheduling with schools and farms
Supervise AmeriCorps member
10-15% | Local Food Procurement & Supply Chain Coordination Work with schools to: Develop procurement plans for local foods Navigate school purchasing systems and regulations Coordinate with farm team to: Align production planning with school demand
Ensure consistent supply of local produce
Manage goal of distributing ~1,000 lbs of local produce to schools
10-15% | Partnership Development & Stakeholder Management Build and maintain partnerships with: Local farmers (minimum 5+) School systems (CNP operators) Universities and educators Community organizations Facilitate collaboration between: Farm team School nutrition directors Community partners Represent program at regional/national trainings and networking events Community health
5-10% | Community Engagement | Grant & Financial Management | Team Management Events, outreach, family participation Budget tracking, compliance, coordination with finance Supervising AmeriCorps Internal coordination meetings
Compensation
this position is: salaried, $35,568* - $50,000
