As we grow in our service capacity and brand recognition, we are eager to do more of the place-making & hospitality that we have done throughout our decades as Bostonians. The immediate effort is to expand our production, hours, menu, and service capacity by building out a retail cafe at our Roslindale kitchen facility.

Job description
EXODUS BAKER
FULL-TIME; WEDS-SUN, 4 AM - 11 AM; schedule is TBD with input from candidate
We’re seeking a responsible and reliable baker for daily boil & bake. Start at $23/hr. Exodus is a majority breakfast and lunch purveyor with requirement of morning shifts.

- 2 yrs prior cafe/kitchen experience with capacity to adapt
KEY SKILLS
- Knowledge and adherence to safe food handling practices

- Applicable math skills with a clear understanding of inventory counts & conversions
- Strong communication skills
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Adhere to all relevant nutrition and sanitary regulations and standards
- Complete necessary certifications for food service
- Complete tasks on prep lists provided by baking manager, as required by bake-off pars
- Use of equipment including commercial kettle, ovens, gas range, and dishwasher
- Tray, boil, and bake bagels (approx 500-1500 bagels each bake)
- Meet baking timelines and counts
- As available, process bagels (starters; pucks; production)
- Sort and bag bulk pre-orders
- Wipe and wash trays
- Drain and wash kettle
- As available, produce other breads (challah, biscuits, etc.)
- Clean dishes, cooking utensils, and cookware
- Take out trash
- Wash and sanitize kitchen surfaces and equipment
- Quarterly deep clean of ovens; racks as needed
- Maintain flow of communication with Management, Production, and Service teams regarding progress and completion of baking responsibilities
- Maintain compliance with Exodus training requirements including all food, health, and safety ordinances required by City, State, Federal mandate
- Represent Exodus brand of hospitality and service
- Avoid unnecessary use of personal electronic devices
Compensation
this position is: hourly, $20/hr +
