The MX Morningstar farm store is a warm and welcoming year-round retail destination situated on our 40 acre organic vegetable farm located 10 minutes outside of Hudson in Claverack, NY. We pride ourselves on offering a beautiful display and selection of the most inspiring and ethical ingredients for home and professional cooks seeking the best of the Hudson Valley. We specialize in organic produce and carry a variety of fish, meat, cheese, dry goods, and other local and specialty food products, fruit, and imported goods. We also carry a wide variety of seasonal items like plant starts, wreaths, flowers, and pumpkins as well as hosting weekend pop-ups. Part of the magic of our store experience is our staff, and our team is growing! Anyone joining our team is extensively trained in personable and professional high touch customer service as well as displaying and maintaining high quality produce offerings. Job description

Front of house staff are part of a small team operating a busy and farm-adjacent store front. Summer cashiers are responsible for maintaining staff coverage on the sales floor during the busiest days of the week, distributing CSA shares, helping customers, and keeping sales operations running smoothly.

Routine Duties & Responsibilities:

● Running the store:
Staffing the register & bagging customer purchases

Restocking register supplies: stamping paper bags, restocking bags, maintaining change reserve

Answering customer questions & giving guidance on vegetable prep/storage.

Distributing CSA shares

General maintenance of store “ambiance.”

Various cleaning duties depending on day: dusting, sweeping, general tidying

Schedule Details:

Front of House/Cashier roles are part time: Friday - Sunday, with the option for additional days if full time is desired.

All shifts are 8hrs: 10am to 6pm.

All shifts include a paid 30 minute lunch break.

Weekend availability is required.

Summer availability: must be available through the end of August, 2026 with the option to continue into the fall + winter seasons.

Compensation:

Hourly at $18/hr

20% discount on all store products

Free produce section including scratch n' dent store products

PTO available for year-round employees

Paid OT after 40hrs.
