Job description
We are seeking a skilled line cook to support both our commissary kitchen production and live event execution. This is a flexible, as-needed role with genuine potential for growth within Chef Society under the direct guidance of our Creative Culinary Director, Sam Talbot — award-winning James Beard nominee and Top Chef Champion — and senior kitchen management.
For the right candidate — someone who shows up sharp, takes direction well, and executes with care and consistency — this role is a real pathway to expanded responsibility within our organization.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Kitchen Production (Onsite) — Execute prep and production tasks as directed by senior chefs and kitchen management — Follow prep sheets, portion specs, and mise en place standards with precision — Maintain cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards throughout all production shifts — Communicate proactively with the kitchen team on task completion and any issues
Location Requirements — Must be local to Suffolk or Nassau County and able to consistently travel to our Westhampton Beach kitchen — Work seamlessly alongside lead chefs and event staff to deliver flawless guest experiences — Adapt quickly to on-site conditions, last-minute changes, and elevated client expectations — Represent Chef Society with professionalism in all client-facing environments
General — Arrive on time, prepared, and in proper uniform for every shift — Take direction well and bring a positive, team-first attitude to every kitchen — Demonstrate a genuine commitment to growth and learning within the Chef Society model
COMPENSATION — BASED ON EXPERIENCE
Production Rate (Onsite): Starting at $18.00 / hour, BOE Event Rate (Offsite): Starting at $25.00 / hour, BOE
Hours are confirmed on a per-shift basis. This is an ad hoc engagement; shifts are offered based on scheduling needs and are not guaranteed on a fixed weekly basis.

Compensation
this position is: hourly, varies DOE, $18.00 - $35.00
