Job Description
Community Farmers Markets is seeking a Programs Coordinator to support with market, event, and education programs. The Programs Coordinator supports the operation of all Community Farmers Markets programs through both on-site market support and behind-the-scenes support with inventory, data management, and systems development. This position serves as a highly cross-trained team member who can fill in for market staff at any CFM market as needed while also supporting the Director of Programs with tracking, reporting, scheduling, SOP development and implementation, program administration, and operations. The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, detail-oriented, and excited to contribute to both the behind-the-scenes systems and the front-line work that keep CFM programs running smoothly and delivering meaningful community impact.
This position will report directly to the Director of Programs and could become a strong pipeline role into future management positions because it provides exposure to virtually every aspect of CFM's work.
Compensation & Schedule
The Programs Coordinator is an hourly, full-time, year-round position at $25/hr with a minimum of 20 hrs/week and up to 40 hrs/week. They must be willing and able to work on a flexible schedule in a fast-paced environment, some evenings and weekends are required. The Program Coordinator is a hybrid position and will work in the community, in the CFM office in Atlanta, as well as, remotely.
Payments are made on a bi-weekly basis. This position is eligible for healthcare insurance and a flexible PTO policy. The Program Coordinator will primarily work remotely and at market, with several days per month required in-office. The Program Coordinator must be able to commit to a full market season to be considered for the position.
Primary Responsibilities
Program Support
- Cross-train in all market positions and serve as a substitute for Market Managers and Assistant Managers, as needed.
- Assist with the operations of market programs and events, including compost initiatives, donor events, at-market events, vendor appreciation events, and education and outreach programs.
Data, Reporting & Evaluation
- Help monitor completion of weekly staff reporting requirements.
- Assist with grant reporting and outcome tracking.
- Pull and summarize data for board reports, funder reports, and internal planning.
Systems & SOP Development
- Document workflows and recommend process improvements.
- Assist with updating, organizing, and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures.
- Ensure accurate, consistent SOP implementation across programs.
Other related assignments as necessary
Ideal Qualifications
- Ability to drive a Sprinter van
- Must hold a current driver's license, clean driving record required to fulfill job duties
- Must possess 3+ years of professional experience
- Strong operational and project management skills.
- Ability to manage time and resources effectively, prioritizing efforts according to organizational goals.
- Excellent attention to detail and follow-through.
- Strong hospitality skills, written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience developing strong, trusting, respectful relationships with others.
- Managerial experience preferred but not required.
- Competency with G Suite, Mailchimp, Facebook, Instagram and other social media outlets.
- Ability to work both in an office setting and outdoors at markets.
- Passion for local food systems, community engagement, and nonprofit work.
Physical Demands
- Shifts up to 7 hours long take place outdoors in all seasons and in extreme weather, including heat, cold, and rain.
- Position involves lifting and moving items up to 40lb, bending, grasping, and repetitive movements.
