Job description
Jamie’s Farm is looking for enthusiastic, customer-focused individuals to join our team at the Park Slope Farmers Market this season! The market is held on select Sundays:
July 26 | Aug 2 | Aug 16 | Aug 30 | Sept 6 | Sept 20 | Oct 4 | Oct 18 | Nov 1 | Nov 15
Hours: ~7:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. on select Sundays (~7 hours)
This is the face-of-the-brand role. As a Farmers Market Associate, you'll represent Jamie’s Farm at the Park Slope Down to Earth Market, engaging customers and sharing the story behind our award-winning granola products.
Key Responsibilities
- Booth Logistics & Setup (~7:30 AM – 8:15 AM): Retrieve our market equipment from a local storage facility located 3 blocks from the market. Load and roll the gear (10x10 canopy tent, folding tables, and four 25 lb weights) to the market space. Set up the tent and build a beautiful, visually striking product display that honors our brand aesthetic.
- Active Sales & Hospitality (9:00 AM – 2:00 PM): Actively engage with market guests. You will be responsible for preparing and handing out samples and proactively sharing our story and multi-bag volume bundles (e.g., 2 bags for $24) to meet daily community growth targets.
- POS Operations: Manage checkout lines efficiently using a Shopify POS reader, ensuring digital receipts are offered to capture customer email leads seamlessly.
- Breakdown & Return (2:00 PM – ~2:30 PM): Count remaining inventory, safely dismantle the canopy booth, pack the equipment, and return it securely to the storage unit.
You're a great fit if you:
- Are a conversationalist who genuinely loves talking about honest food, connecting with people, and driving sales through great hospitality.
- Are organized, dependable, and comfortable working independently.
- Can lift and load market supplies, up to 50 lbs.
- Can stand outdoors for the duration of a 5-hour market, rain or shine.
- Have a vehicle suitable for hauling market supplies.
- Have experience in specialty coffee, retail, food service, or outdoor markets - highly preferred but not required if you possess the right attitude and a willingness to learn.
