Company description
Dirty Dog Farm is a first-generation regenerative farm in Germantown, NY, on a mission to fix the way beef is raised and sold. We produce 100% grass-fed, grass-finished beef on 400+ acres of pasture, and we ship it directly to families across the Northeast. No feedlots, no grain, no middlemen.
We farm the way cattle are meant to live: rotating our herd across fresh pasture, letting the animals do the work of building healthier soil. Every move is planned to regenerate the land instead of depleting it. Well-managed grazing pulls carbon back into the ground, restores grassland, and improves water retention, all while producing beef the way nature intended. Healthier soil, healthier animals, healthier food.
We built this business from the ground up because we believe people deserve to know exactly where their food comes from and how it was raised. Thousands of families now get their beef straight from our pasture instead of an anonymous supply chain, and we are growing fast.
If you care about real food, healthy land, and the animals that connect the two, you will fit right in here. This is hands-on work with a team that is proud of what it produces and serious about doing it the right way.
Job description
Grass-Fed Beef Farm Hand
Dirty Dog Farm - Germantown, NY
Full-time, 40 hrs/week, Start ASAP
Why this role matters
Dirty Dog Farm is a first generation farm that raises 100% grass-fed, grass-finished cattle on 400+ acres and ships beef straight to thousands of families across the Northeast. Our goal is simple and ambitious: prove that regenerative beef, raised the right way, can outcompete the industrial version at scale. We are growing fast, and we need more good hands to get there.
This is a rare chance to see how a real farm business works end to end. The cattle, the pasture, the people, the machines, and the box that lands on a customer's doorstep. If you want to learn this work from the inside out, there is no faster way.
What your week looks like
The week splits roughly in half. Early week (Mon/Tue) you are in cold storage, picking and packing frozen beef shares and getting orders out the door. The rest of the week you are outside: moving cattle to fresh pasture, setting and electrifying fence, checking water lines, monitoring animal health, running equipment, and keeping the property in shape.
Some days you will pack orders in the morning, fix a fence after lunch, and load the UPS truck before you head home. You work directly with our small core team and have real opportunity for growth and advancement.
Where it can grow
For the right person, this role can grow in two directions.
On the farm side: running tractors, truck and trailer, and skid steer; hauling livestock; leading fence, water, and construction builds.
On the fulfillment side: owning backend order operations, managing vendors and supply ordering, handling our butcher relationship, and overseeing customer fulfillment directly. If you are hungry to learn, we will meet you halfway.

- Operate farm vehicles in compliance with local, state, and federal law

Requirements
- Physical work is the foundation of this job. This is non-negotiable.
- You will lift and load up to 70 lbs regularly, stand and walk for long stretches, work in walk-in freezers, and work outside in summer heat and winter cold. If that does not sound like your kind of day, this is not the role.

- Able or willing to learn trucks and trailers, tractors, skid steers, and other ag equipment
- Able or willing to learn battery and gas-powered tools: chainsaws, brush mowers, drills, drivers, saws
