Job description
Position Summary
We're looking for an enthusiastic, dependable, and customer-focused Farm Store Team Member who enjoys working with people and has a genuine appreciation for agriculture, fresh food, and local farming. No two days are exactly alike at Nourse Farm. One day you may be creating beautiful produce displays in our farm store, the next assisting with our CSA, supporting a farm event, or helping inspire children in our new educational garden.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in creating exceptional customer experiences, and wants to be part of preserving one of New England's historic working farms.
Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist customers, providing friendly, knowledgeable service.
- Merchandise fresh fruits, vegetables, flowers, baked goods, gifts, and other farm store products to create an attractive shopping experience.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked farm store.
Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately and efficiently.
- Answer customer questions about seasonal produce, farming practices, CSA memberships, and farm activities.
- Assist with setting up and distributing our Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program.
- Help prepare and staff pop-up farmers markets and off-site community events.
- Support farm tours, educational experiences, and private events held on the farm.
- Assist with children's activities and the development of our new elementary school education garden.
- Lift, move, and stock produce, plants, supplies, and merchandise throughout the day.
- Work collaboratively with the farm and retail teams to ensure an exceptional visitor experience.
Qualifications
- Friendly, outgoing personality with excellent customer service skills.
- Appreciation for agriculture, local food, and seasonal fruits and vegetables.
- Interest in learning about farming and sharing that enthusiasm with customers.
- Comfortable working with people of all ages and backgrounds.
- Experience using a POS system or willingness to learn quickly.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing as part of a team.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain active throughout the workday.
- Flexible schedule, including weekends and occasional evenings for special events.
- Retail, hospitality, farmers market, agricultural, or customer service experience is a plus but not required.

Compensation
this position is: hourly, $15-20/hr
