Job description
Seeking an experienced Baker and Pastry Cook to join our pastry team and contribute to a seasonally driven program in a busy, fast-paced café and artisanal bakery. The ideal candidate is organized, production-focused, and collaborative, with a positive attitude and a passion for producing high-quality pastries and desserts.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (typically 6–8+ hours per shift)
Capability to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs (e.g., flour bags, trays)
Comfortable with repetitive motions (mixing, piping, rolling dough)
Ability to bend, reach, and work in tight kitchen spaces
Tolerance for hot, cold, and humid environments (ovens, freezers)
Technical Skills:
Knowledge of basic and advanced baking techniques (cakes, pastries, breads, desserts)
Ability to follow recipes precisely and scale them accurately
Familiarity with kitchen equipment (mixers, ovens, sheeters, piping tools)
Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
Basic math skills for measuring and adjusting recipes
Work Environment Expectations:
Willingness to work early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Comfortable working as part of a team and taking direction from chefs
Certifications:
Food Handler’s Permit / Food Safety Certification
Compensation
this position is: hourly, varies DOE, $19.00 - $24.00
