About Farmhand
Farmhand helps farmers run and grow direct-to-consumer sales and subscriptions. We build software and provide services that help farmers manage orders, sell online, communicate with customers, and handle the day-to-day operations that keep their business moving.
We work closely with family farms that are doing a lot with small teams, and we care deeply about building tools and services that make their lives easier and build a better food system.
Why this role matters
This is our first-ever dedicated Farmer Support Specialist hire, which makes this a big role.
You’ll own a huge part of the farmer and customer experience at Farmhand. You’ll be the person helping farmers and their customers when they have questions, solving problems when things go wrong, and finding ways to help farmers get more value from the platform. You’ll also help them show up better to their own customers by creating and updating assets like flyers, website content, and other customer-facing materials.
This role is part support, strategy, and operations. We’re looking for someone who likes being close to the customer, moving fast, figuring things out, and building the playbook as they go.
Responsibilities
Own and manage the inbox across farmer and customer support, answering questions during weekdays and weekends
Help farmers and their customers use Farmhand successfully through daily support, as needed training, community building, and best practice sharing
Troubleshoot issues, answer product questions, and coordinate with the team when something needs escalation
Act as a go-to partner for farmers who want help improving how streamline business operations and grow sales sustainably
Create and update simple customer-facing assets like flyers, website copy, product listings, and promotional materials
Spot patterns in customer questions and turn them into better processes, docs, and product insights and improvements
Help us build the foundation for Farmer Success at Farmhand from the ground up
Experience
1–3 years in a technical customer support or customer success role, preferably within farming, agriculture, local food systems, or other mission-driven organizations required
Strong communicator, especially in writing
Comfortable juggling a mix of support, strategy, and execution
Good judgment, high ownership, and a bias toward solving problems quickly
Excited by early-stage startups and building things that don’t exist yet
Technology native, using state of the art tools like Claude, and always curious and tinkering with frontier technology

Compensation
this position is: salaried, $68,640 - $75,000
