About The Charlie Cart Project
Founded in 2015, The Charlie Cart Project's (CCP) mission is to make hands-on food education accessible everywhere children gather to learn, giving kids the knowledge and confidence to make healthy choices for life. Today, The Charlie Cart Project works primarily with schools, libraries and community organizations, which use the Charlie Cart to deliver hands-on cooking lessons and nutrition programs to their constituents.
The program centers on a portable, compact mobile kitchen, paired with a 54-lesson, K-5 curriculum aligned to Common Core standards, training and resources, and access to a national network of food and nutrition educators to seed and support impactful programs. Over its 10-year history, The Charlie Cart Project has worked with nearly 2,000 educators across 700+ sites in 48 states, with its program footprint growing by roughly 10% each year. In this next phase of growth, the organization will focus on aligning our program, sales, and development functions to drive large-volume cart placements, and seeding strong program impact through comprehensive site onboarding and strategic network development.
The organization is led by a dedicated governing Board, a dynamic Executive Director, and a small but mighty, skilled and passionate staff. For more information about the Charlie Cart Project, please visit charliecart.org.
