Our retail home is La Fuente Market in Phoenix, Oregon, a farmer-run butcher shop, local food hub, kitchen, and community gathering space connecting local farms directly with customers.

Farm & Market Development Contractor
Contractor Compensation
$1,200 monthly salary + Commission (See below)
Maximum 20 hours per week
Farm responsibilities are limited to a maximum of 20 hours per month managing volunteer crew on farm. The remaining hours focus on sales, business development, marketing, operations, and community outreach.
Opportunity to earn performance-based commissions on qualified new Uproot Production business generated directly by the contractor.
Opportunity for increased compensation as the role and business grow.
Position Summary
We're looking for someone who enjoys both hands-on farm work and building relationships in the community. This role supports the expansion of Uproot Meats' pasture-raised pork operation while helping grow catering, wholesale, online, and retail sales for La Fuente Market. The ideal contractor is self-directed, resourceful, and excited to help grow a local food business from the pasture to the customer.
Responsibilities
Farm Operations (Maximum 5 Hours Per Week)
Weekly rotational grazing and fence management.
Pasture, weed, and garden maintenance
Production support and farm infrastructure projects
Business Development
Build relationships with wedding planners, venues, wineries, breweries, event organizers, and community partners.
Secure and manage catering, food truck, and private event bookings.
Develop new wholesale accounts.
Grow sales of wholesale bulk pork, carnitas, fresh sausage, and other Uproot Production pork products.
Represent Uproot Meats and La Fuente Market at community events.
Assist with marketing, social media, and community outreach.
Market Operations
Learn and operate the Clover POS system.
Manage online ordering, product listings, and inventory updates.
Process retail and restaurant orders.
Assist with customer service and order fulfillment.
Cross-train to support daily operations at La Fuente Market as needed.
Commission Structure
Commission is earned on new business generated directly by the contractor.
Performance Bonuses
Performance bonuses may be offered for:
Achieving agreed-upon monthly Uproot Production pork sales goals.
Reaching new wholesale account milestones.
Securing large weddings or private events that exceed predetermined sales thresholds.
Commission rates, bonus amounts, and performance thresholds will be established in writing before commissionable work begins.

Increased Uproot Production pork sales.
More booked catering events and weddings.
New wholesale customers.
Accurate online market and Clover management.
Healthy, efficient rotational grazing farm operations.
Strong community relationships.
Increased visibility and sales for Uproot Meats and La Fuente Market.
Independent Contractor Status
This is an independent contractor opportunity and does not create an employer-employee relationship. Compensation consists of the monthly contractor fee plus earned commissions and bonuses. The contractor is responsible for their own taxes and business obligations. Commission rates, bonus thresholds, and program terms will be agreed upon in writing and may be updated by mutual agreement as the business grows.
