Nourish Colorado is a non-profit organization committed to increasing access to nutritious, local food and building a more equitable food system across Colorado. We conduct policy advocacy for systems change, manage programs that increase food access and support local producers, and work alongside community partners to inspire collective action.

Job description

Position Summary: The Data and Impact Manager plays a critical role in advancing Nourish Colorado’s data strategy across the Local Food Program (LFP), a statewide initiative that provides funding to schools to purchase Colorado-grown, raised, and processed foods, and broader organizational initiatives. For LFP, 134 school districts and 14 charter schools are participating in this program during School Year 26/27 with just over $15M being allotted to those schools. As part of LFP, Nourish CO applied for and received the Training and Technical Assistance Grant which will provide support to participating schools and producers.

Approximately 60% of this role is dedicated to the Local Food Program (LFP), supporting the program’s transition from a pilot to statewide implementation through data infrastructure development, program evaluation, and analysis of K-12 food procurement and agricultural market development. This position plays a crucial role in assessing and enhancing the impact of our LFP programs across the state. The remaining 40% supports organization-wide data, evaluation, and story-telling, including assessing the collective impact of our entire strategic plan, including nutrition incentives, nutrition education, and policy advocacy efforts as well as school food.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

Local Food Program (LFP) Data Systems Development & Market Intelligence (50%)

-Lead data strategy for LFP, including tracking supply, demand, and market connections across regions
-Support development and maintenance of tools such as the Wholesale Producer Database and regional market analyses
-Collaborate with participating school districts, agricultural partners and associations, food hubs, and external partners to collect and validate data
-Contribute to statewide data initiatives and working groups related to farm-to-institution efforts
-Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of data systems that support LFP and organizational priorities
-Establish and refine standardized data collection protocols across regions, partners, and programs
-Ensure data accuracy, integrity, security, and accessibility across platforms by following national standards and best practices
-Support the input and maintenance of databases, dashboards, and tracking tools (e.g., Flow of Food, Wholesale Producer Directory (in development), Guidebook usage,)
-Support integration across organizational tools (e.g., CRM systems, survey platforms, dashboards)

Cross-Program Data and Organizational Support (25%)

-Support data and evaluation needs across Nourish Colorado programs (e.g., nutrition education, policy, incentives programs)
-Collaborate with leadership to align data strategy with organizational goals and funding requirements
-Contribute to proposal development, strategic planning, and organizational learning efforts
-Provide support, content and expertise for communications, marketing, and fundraising efforts
-Represent Nourish in relevant state or national working groups, committees, or coalitions
-Participate in and actively engage with organization-wide monthly JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion) meetings aimed at fostering connection and belonging across Nourish
-Contribute to team-specific JEDI projects and initiatives, supporting the integration of equity and inclusion into day-to-day work

Evaluation, Reporting, & Learning (15%)

-Develop and implement evaluation frameworks to measure program outcomes, impact, and reach
-Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities
-Prepare reports, dashboards, and visualizations for internal and external audiences
-Support grant reporting with timely and current impact data
-Translate findings into actionable recommendations to strengthen program design and delivery

Technical Assistance & Capacity Building (10%)

-Prepare comprehensive reports and dashboards for internal and external stakeholders
-Be available and responsive to program contractors, partners, Nourish Colorado staff, institutional contacts, and other key partners as needed
-Provide consistency and alignment in our data collection processes by offering training and support to staff and partners on data collection, reporting tools, and evaluation methods when needed
-Develop guidance materials, templates, and resources to standardize data practices
-Support onboarding of partners and regional coordinators into data systems
-Champion a culture of data-informed decision-making across the organization

Qualifications and Experience

-Strong quantitative and qualitative data analysis skills
-Strong technology skills, including with Microsoft Office suite and experience with project management software such as ClickUp and data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
-Familiarity with state and/or federal grant management processes, including data and evaluation planning and reporting requirements
-Experience working with multiple stakeholders within the food systems field
-Strong attention to detail and organizational skills; ability to multitask and prioritize work efficiently
-Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting, including the ability to use data to drive program improvements and decision making
-Ability to function well in a fully remote environment
Proactive approach to problem identification and resolution
-Ability to adapt and manage complex change
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively
-Sensitivity and experience working with diverse populations, cultures, and socioeconomic backgrounds

This position would ideally start on Oct 5th, 2026 and is fully funded through June 30th, 2027. Extension of position is based on performance and available funding.

Compensation

this position is: salaried, $56,485 - $75,000
