We are seeking an energetic individual with practical nursery/greenhouse experience to meet the needs of a growing native plant nursery. This is an excellent opportunity for someone exploring the industry who would like to work in a beautiful environment with a team dedicated to promoting and preserving Georgia’s amazing flora. Qualifications & Requirements:

• Eager to learn, self-motivated, and energetic with great attention to detail
• Able to work independently and cooperatively with others as part of a working farm crew
• Basic writing and record-keeping skills, basic computer skills, and the ability to communicate effectively by email
• Because our business is located in an area without access to reliable public transportation, we only recommend that applicants with access to a vehicle apply.
• GA driver's license required, as driving is a component of the job duties.
• Able to provide proof of US Citizenship or legal residency
• Physically able to work outside in the elements and all seasons in Georgia, stand and kneel for extended periods, lift 40 lbs, work smart to avoid injury
• Basic knowledge of working with garden hand tools (shovel, pick, hoe, rake, etc.)
• Knowledge of basic safety protocols for hand tools and farm equipment
• Experience driving a tractor preferred
• Education or interest in areas such as: Conservation, Horticulture, Greenhouse Operations, Organic Farming, Ecology, Forestry, Master Gardener Program, Environmental Studies preferred
• Experience with Square, Google suite, and Discord preferred

Responsibilities:

• Seed collection/cleaning/storing, sowing seeds, sexual and asexual plant propagation, up-potting seedlings and plugs, mixing growing media
• Pest identification and management
• Loading and unloading plant orders
• Watering, winterizing, sanitizing, irrigation maintenance
• Record keeping and maintaining clear records of plant production

Compensation

this position is: hourly, $15-20/hr
