About the Job:

Job Title: Retail Team Member

This team member will be responsible, primarily, for back of house responsibilities, while providing front of house support.

Who you are:

You will play an essential role in our store's operations by ensuring accurate and efficient receipt, and display, of merchandise. You will be responsible for inspecting and verifying incoming shipments, recording inventory data, and maintaining a clean and organized receiving area and sales floor.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Managing stock

• Receives product deliveries, ensures order and invoice accuracy and notes discrepancies, including damaged merchandise.
• Properly stores both perishable and shelf-stable food items in appropriate locations and at appropriate temperatures, in accordance with NYC DOH.
• Sorts and organizes merchandise in the backroom, maintaining inventory accuracy by conducting regular counts and audits.
• Ensures all merchandise that is available for sale is represented on the sales floor in its proper location (working with planogram); ensures products are properly labeled and priced.
• Assists customers with merchandise purchases by locating items customers may wish to purchase, suggesting items of interest, and retrieving merchandise from inventory when needed.
• Communicates grocery needs, adjustments, and problems to Store Manager promptly and efficiently.
• Performs cleaning duties such as, sweeping, mopping, dusting, packaging and garbage disposal including cafe seating, bathrooms, and break room.

Physical Requirements:

• This position will require frequent standing and use of hands and arms. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and frequently bend and twist from the waist, climbing steps regularly
• Must be comfortable working in temperatures ranging from hot to cold

Availability Requirements:

Up to 35 hours per week, 3-4 days of availability required and must be available to work a minimum of 1 peak day (usually weekend days, weekend as described as Saturday and Sunday) including early mornings, nights, and holidays.

Pay rate is $20/hr.
