Job description
We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Landscape & Facilities Assistant to join our team to work mainly at our historic estate and event venue: The Meshewa House at Turner Farm. This is a hands-on, full time, hourly position for someone who takes pride in creating immaculate outdoor spaces while also performing general cleaning and event support. The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, is self-motivated, and understands that exceptional grounds are an essential part of the guest experience.
Grounds & Landscape Care
Routine Landscaping: Maintain lawns, gardens, trees, and hardscapes across the estate and occasional landscaping across the farm.
Plant Health: Handle planting, weeding, pruning, watering, and pest management.
Seasonal Cleanup: Manage leaf removal, winterization, and spring landscaping prep.
Property Cleanliness: Keep all pathways, patios, and outdoor areas free of debris. Clean building exteriors, including gutters and surface washing. Light janitorial work in spaces around the property.
Painting: Handle basic interior and exterior painting projects as needed.
Site Preparation: Ensure the grounds are presentation-ready prior to special events; assist event staff with furniture arrangements as needed.
Organizational Relationship:
The Landscape & Facilities Assistant reports directly to the Facilities Director, but will also work with the Grounds Manager, and Events Director.
Qualifications & Experience
Background in landscaping, groundskeeping, and proven ability to operate commercial landscape machinery and power tools safely.
Understanding of irrigation systems and water management is preferred.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physically demanding work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work productively with minimal daily supervision.

Compensation
this position is: hourly, $20/hr +
