Caribe United Distribution is a farmer-owned food distribution, transportation, and logistics company based in Georgia. We were created from firsthand experience with one of the biggest challenges facing small and independent food businesses: getting fresh, locally produced food reliably from the producer to the customer.

Our company provides refrigerated transportation and distribution services connecting farms, food producers, restaurants, retailers, markets, and other food businesses throughout Georgia, with a particular focus on the Athens–Atlanta corridor and surrounding communities.

Caribe United Distribution works closely with Caribe United Farm, our affiliated agricultural business. Through our own farming experience, we understand the challenges that small farmers and food entrepreneurs face because we experience those challenges ourselves. This farmer-centered perspective shapes how we approach distribution, customer relationships, cold-chain logistics, and regional food-system development.

Caribe United Farm produces non-GMO pasture-raised eggs, pasture-raised pork products, sausages, and other value-added farm products. Together, the farm and distribution businesses are developing an integrated model that connects agricultural production, wholesale distribution, refrigerated transportation, and direct-to-consumer sales.

Our goal is bigger than simply moving products from one location to another. We want to help strengthen the infrastructure available to small farms and independent food businesses, creating better connections between producers and the restaurants, retailers, chefs, institutions, and communities that want to purchase their products.

Job description

Egg Washer & Packing Associate
Caribe United Farm | Athens, Georgia Area | Part-Time

Caribe United Farm is seeking a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented Egg Washer & Packing Associate to support our growing non-GMO pasture-raised egg operation.

This is a hands-on position responsible for helping prepare our eggs for wholesale customers, retailers, restaurants, farmers markets, and other sales channels. The person in this role will be an important part of maintaining the quality, cleanliness, organization, and consistency of our egg operation.

Responsibilities
Wash and process eggs using our commercial egg-washing equipment.
Inspect eggs for cleanliness, cracks, damage, and other quality concerns.
Grade, sort, and organize eggs according to our production and packing requirements.
Pack eggs into cartons, flats, and cases for retail and wholesale orders.
Label and prepare finished egg products for customer orders and distribution.
Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized egg-washing and packing area.
Clean and sanitize equipment, work surfaces, containers, and other materials used during egg processing.
Follow farm procedures and applicable food-safety and egg-handling requirements.
Assist with organizing finished inventory and preparing wholesale and retail orders.
Maintain basic production, packing, and inventory records as required.
Communicate with farm management regarding inventory, damaged eggs, equipment issues, supplies, and production needs.
Assist with other egg-operation and farm-related responsibilities when needed.
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who is reliable, punctual, careful, and comfortable performing repetitive hands-on work. Attention to detail is especially important because this position directly affects the quality and presentation of products reaching our customers.

Previous experience with eggs is not necessarily required. Experience in farming, food production, food packing, kitchens, warehouses, manufacturing, sanitation, or similar hands-on work is welcome. We are willing to train the right person who demonstrates reliability, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn.

Applicants should be comfortable standing for extended periods, working around water and food-processing equipment, performing repetitive tasks, and safely lifting and moving boxes, egg flats, and cases associated with the operation.

Opportunity to Grow
This is initially a part-time position, but we are building our wholesale egg operation and expanding relationships with restaurants, retailers, food businesses, and other customers throughout Georgia.

As the operation grows, there may be opportunities for additional hours and responsibilities for someone who demonstrates reliability, initiative, and an interest in growing with the business.
