Titusville Farm is a 170+ acre property located in Poughkeepsie, New York. Established by the Cornell Family in 1788, the property has a long agricultural history and today has been revitalized into a farm, market, orchard and cidery. We produce certified organic vegetables and flowers, pasture-raised eggs, strawberries, grapes, and cider apples. Our operation includes an on-farm CSA, farmers markets, restaurant and wholesale sales, and our on-site farm stand and upcoming permanent farm market.

About the Farm Stand
Our farm stand is an extension of the farm and an opportunity to connect customers directly with what we grow. We want shopping here to feel welcoming, personal and rooted in the season. Farm Stand Staff should be excited to introduce customers to our produce, share what's being grown and harvested, answer questions, and help people get excited about local food.
We are currently operating out of a seasonal tent while renovations are completed on our permanent farm market, opening this fall. The new market will feature our produce, eggs and flowers alongside a growing selection of products from other local farms and producers.
We are looking for one or two people to join us for 1–2 shifts per week through September, with weekend availability required. This is an opportunity to learn the ropes and become familiar with the farm, our products and customers before we move into the new space. Once the permanent market opens, significantly more hours and shifts will become available, with year-round potential for the right candidates.
Job Description
Farm Stand Staff play a key role in daily operations. This is a hands-on position combining retail, customer service, food and produce knowledge, merchandising, and light physical work.
Staff ensure the stand is well-stocked and organized, produce is fresh and displayed beautifully, and customers have a welcoming and helpful experience. Staff often work independently, so we're looking for people who are observant, proactive and comfortable taking ownership of the stand during their shift.
Pay + Hours
$19–22/hour depending on experience.
Approximately 1–2 shifts per week through September.
Weekend availability required.
Current hours are Wednesday–Sunday, 10:00am–4:00pm. Staff shifts are approximately 8:30am–4:45pm.
Significantly more hours available when the permanent farm market opens this fall, with year-round potential.
Employees receive vegetables and eggs from the farm and a 20% discount on non-farm products sold in the store.
Duties
Open and close the farm stand following established procedures.
Stock and restock produce, eggs, flowers, beverages and other products.
Maintain clean, abundant and visually appealing displays.
Monitor product quality, regularly sorting and refreshing produce and removing items that are no longer sellable.
Operate the Square point-of-sale system and accurately handle cash and credit card transactions.
Interact with customers, answer questions and share information about our farm, products and what's currently in season.
Assist CSA members with weekly on-farm pickups.
Monitor inventory and proactively communicate with the Farm Store Manager when products or supplies are running low.
Maintain organized coolers, back-stock, storage areas and product information.
Complete general cleaning, restocking and light outdoor upkeep as needed.
Take initiative during slower periods to identify and complete tasks that keep the stand clean, stocked and running smoothly.

Appreciation for agriculture, local food, and seasonal fruits and vegetables.
Interest in learning about farming, our products and what's in season, and sharing that knowledge with customers.
Reliable and punctual, with consistent transportation to and from the farm.
Proactive and observant, with the ability to see what needs to be done and take action without always being directed.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, especially around produce quality, cleanliness, merchandising and inventory.
Good judgment around food quality and when a product is or is not sellable.
Comfortable working independently while also contributing as part of a team.
Able to anticipate needs and communicate proactively with management.
Experience using a POS system or willingness to learn quickly.
General food and retail knowledge preferred. Hospitality, culinary, farmers market, agricultural, produce, or customer service experience is a strong plus.
Adaptable and comfortable working in a growing operation as we transition into our new space.
Able to remain active throughout the workday and lift and carry up to 40–50 lbs.
Compensation
this position is: hourly, varies DOE, $19.00 - $22.00
