Located in Elizabethtown, NY, way up in the Adirondack Mountains of New York, our 60 seat cafe has become a true part of the community. Open for breakfast and lunch only - 7 AM - 2 PM, with occasional pop-up evenings, and special events. We provide a free community dinner for Thanksgiving, for example.

We're looking for a full-time line cook for complement our two other cooks on the kitchen staff. Weekends are a must, and flexible schedule is important as well.

Our kitchen is large, bright, and cooled, with plenty of space to work. We have two walk-ins, one cooler, one freezer.

Looking for team players, willing to help. No prima donnas please.

Job description

We survived our first year and are thriving. Open 7 - 2, seven days a week, we serve breakfast and lunch. Some days are very busy. We need a person with experience in a short order cook environment who can get along with the other cooks and staff.

Opening tasks include prepping the line, preparing sauces, preparing the steam table, etc. Maintaining and alerting for inventory is important. Cook food to order in a timely manner. Closing routines include cleaning the grill, preparing the mise en place for the morning, double checking inventory, etc.

Compensation

this position is: hourly, $15.50 - 20/hr
