We grow over 100 varieties of vegetables for our year-round CSA, our farmstores in the Boston Public Market and Boston’s South End, and area restaurants including family-owned Oleana, Sofra, and Sarma. We use regenerative, biological agricultural practices to build our soil’s health and productivity, free of chemical herbicides, pesticides, and synthetic fertilizers.

We are seeking individuals who are motivated by a career interest in sustainable agriculture to join our team as an Assistant Distribution Manager!
Siena Farms’ Assistant Distribution Manager is a core part of the year-round team for our 50-acre diversified produce farm. In this position, the Assistant Distribution Manager will split time between our Harvest (2-4 days/week) and Distribution (2-4 days/week) teams under the supervision of both the Distribution and Harvest Managers. Harvest tasks generally consist of harvesting, washing and packing products, while distribution includes safely and efficiently delivering farm products to CSA members, wholesale customers, and our retail stores in Boston. The Assistant Distribution Manager will directly report to and be supervised by the Distribution and Harvest Managers.
Primary responsibilities of our Assistant Distribution Manager include but are not limited to the coordination and execution of the following:
Distribution
- Complete Siena Farms deliveries and pickups in a timely, professional, safe, and efficient manner, following a schedule created by the Distribution Manager(s): Retail and wholesale deliveries; CSA deliveries to pickup locations; Periodic pick-up of products from local farms and specialty food producers
- Work with Distribution and Harvest teams to pack and load orders for delivery
- Safely and efficiently operate our Sprinter van and 18’ box truck, plus our farm trucks and forklift
- Represent Siena Farms to customers in a friendly and professional manner, referring questions when appropriate to the Distribution Manager(s) or Business Manager
Harvest
- While not on deliveries, work under the supervision of Harvest Managers and/or Production Managers on tasks including:
- Daily vegetable, herb, mushroom, and flower harvests;
- Field work, including greenhouse propagation, field transplanting, trellising, hand weeding, pruning, and thinning;
- Post-harvest washing and packing for CSA shares and retail and wholesale deliveries

- Confident driving in urban environments, with preference for experience operating large vehicles
- Hands-on farming experience and/or Spanish language proficiency are a plus

Schedule
- Our Assistant Distribution Manager position is considered a full-time, year-round position, averaging 40 hours/week spread over 4 days per week in the “cold months” (December through March), and averaging 50 hours / week spread over 5 days in the “warm months” (April through November). Daily schedule is 7am – 5pm year-round
- One hour of paid lunch break per day is allotted to all farm staff
Compensation
- Salary Range: $48k - $52k
- Generous PTO package, and fully covered health insurance benefits 90 days after start date
