About the Role
At Baldwin Farm, we are looking for an experienced part-time cook to help prepare wholesome, value-added foods for our organic livestock and poultry farm. This role is about turning quality farm-raised ingredients into comforting, ready-to-enjoy foods like pot pies, soups, broths, stocks, stews, and seasonal specials. It is a good fit for someone who enjoys careful kitchen work, takes pride in flavor and consistency, and understands the importance of safe food handling.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare small-batch foods such as pot pies, soups, broths, stocks, and other ready-to-heat items.
- Follow recipes and production plans while keeping quality, flavor, and consistency high.
- Safely handle, cook, cool, package, label, and store meat-based products.
- Keep the kitchen, tools, equipment, and work areas clean, organized, and sanitary.
- Help make good use of farm-raised meats, bones, fat, and seasonal ingredients.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in a commercial kitchen, catering kitchen, food production setting, farm kitchen, butcher shop, or similar environment.
- Strong food safety habits, including sanitation, temperature control, and careful handling of meat products, evidenced by your food safety certification.
- Comfort preparing soups, stocks, pies, stews, or other prepared foods.
- Dependable, organized, efficient, and able to work independently once trained.
- Interest in organic farming, local food, whole-animal use, and making high-quality food from scratch.
Compensation
this position is: hourly, varies DOE, $25.00 - $35.00
