Regener8 Farm and Retreat was founded in November of 2021 by David and Leila Centner, with the intention of providing nutritious food and educational opportunities for the students and families of the Centner Academy, and for the community at large. From its founding, Regener8 has grown quickly into a diverse operation with many types of growing systems, including 2.5 acres of market garden fields, a hydroponics operation (NFT tables, Grow Towers and Buckets), Aquaponics and Aquaculture, a diversified orchard with over 12 varieties of tropical and sub-tropical fruits, a cage-free egg layer operation, and bee hives. The future holds many plans for the farm, including mushroom production and an onsite farmers’ market. The wellness retreat is planned as a lushly landscaped and serene relaxation environment that will contain a meditation center, overnight lodging, dining hall, glamping area, spa/healing center, walking paths, recreational spaces, and water features.

Job description

We are seeking a motivated individual that is passionate about local food and agriculture to join our team and represent the farm at the Farmer’s Market and help us with sales, harvests & deliveries.

Candidates must be able to operate a motor vehicle, possess a valid driver’s license, and be able to commit to a 10 hour shift on Sunday for the market. All other shifts will be a regular 8 hour day.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Market Sales (1 day)

• Drive the farm’s vehicle to transport products and supplies from the farm to the Market. Heavy lifting included.
• Set-up market display, stock produce, put out market price signs and other signage, breakdown and clean market sites.
• Complete customer transactions using our electronic POS systems
• Provide quality customer service and drive sales of CSA memberships, farm events and other items.
• Organize produce and equipment at the end of each market day, keeping vehicles and items clean and organized and safely storing items in designated areas
• Represent Regener8 Farm and all of its programs with knowledge, professionalism, and enthusiasm
• Monitor market returns and unsold items; categorize for donation, farm crew, or compost.
• Document market sale

Harvest Role (2-3 days)

• Harvest orders weekly
• Keep inventory of produce and fruit
  Remove old produce as needed—send to: Field crew bins (if usable), Chickens( when applicable) Compost bins (if spoiled)
• Check off completed orders on the inventory/order board.
• Perform quality control while packing and storing produce.
• Harvest crops according to specific crop requirements (e.g., correct maturity stage, handling method, and harvest tools).
• Wash and pack produce following proper food safety and quality standards.
• Understand and follow Harvest Day SOPs for storage, packing and quality standards.
• At end of day, leave: Tabletops, floors and bins free of food residue
• Communicate with the cleaning dep. as needed to maintain cleanliness.

Delivery Driver (1-2 days)

• Meeting delivery deadlines and following assigned delivery routes
• Following all traffic laws, DOT regulations and best practices for safety when delivering items
• Communicating with managers as needed to resolve real time delivery obstacles
• Performing basic truck maintenance, such as refueling, doing visual inspections and reporting potential issues
• Preparing, loading and unloading the delivery vehicle
• Using additional equipment such as hand trucks and dollies, as needed

General

• Occasionally participate at staff meetings and trainings
• Additional duties as assigned

• Must hold a valid driver’s license
• Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions (rain, heat, etc.)

  COMPENSATION

$18 - 20 per hour
