Company description
Retaaza is a B corp and social enterprise that strives to make local food more accessible and affordable, directly supports our communities’ farmers, reconnects consumers to their food and planet, and feeds families struggling with food insecurity. We are building robust relationships with local farmers, community organizations, local businesses, and individuals to create a nimble, streamlined approach that is making a measurable impact economically, socially, and environmentally across our communities.
This is a growth role for someone with enough experience to be self-sufficient - who understands marketing tools, data, and strategy - but who still brings the energy of a builder. You will report to the CEO, working collaboratively with leadership on strategic direction while owning execution end to end. This hybrid position balances remote work with in-person presence at our headquarters (Atlanta Tech Village), warehouse facility (Westside), and markets throughout the city. It is a dynamic, hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth, mission-driven environments and is passionate about food systems, sustainability, and equitable food access. As a key member of the team, you will work cross-functionally across departments to ensure Retaaza's mission and impact are communicated effectively.
You are a strategic thinker and willing producer who can deploy, measure, and iterate on-brand marketing and communications. You are a very strong storyteller who knows how to use AI as a tool but can write excellent content themselves and prefers honest, taste-led, on-brand, and channel-appropriate content. A messaging specialist who can craft communications in the brand voice that reflects the company mission.
Specifically, you:
- Understand the business and its goals and can translate them into marketing strategies, plans, and data
- Understand how business KPIs translate to marketing performance
- Think cohesively across the organization - seeing the story that connects everything Retaaza is doing
- Connect every product and service back to the main brand and its mission
- Work across and connect all digital and physical channels
- Translate messaging for various audiences, constituents, channels, and business goals
- Ensure all communications meet brand standards
Job description
Role Responsibilities Include:
- Write and manage social content, newsletters, website, and other brand communications that are channel-appropriate, mission-aligned, and in the Retaaza voice
- Attend Retaaza markets, events, and partner activities to capture photo and video content firsthand
- Organize marketing and in-person activation details for conferences, events, tabling opportunities, and other one-off activities and needs
- Manage our presence across digital and physical channels – ensuring consistency in messaging and visual identity
- Track marketing KPIs, surface insights, and translate data into recommendations that connect to business goals
- Build and maintain marketing materials – presentations, one-pagers, impact reports, and partner-facing collateral
- Manage and optimize marketing technology tools to support lead generation and revenue-driving initiatives
- Translate our story across a diverse audience – corporate partners, community members, donors, media, and the general public
- Ensure every piece of communication ties back to the Retaaza brand and its mission
- Manage outreach with various stakeholders for special programs and events as needed
- Ensure marketing aligns with company goals and values
- Perform ad-hoc analysis and create proposals to support large-scale, future Retaaza projects
- Represent Retaaza while interacting with cross-functional stakeholders inside and outside of the organization
