The Place Above the Notch is a true 3rd place where community and sustainability intersect. The Place is located in the heart of the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Our team is passionate about serving everyone an amazing cup of coffee. In addition to being a community cafe, we are a coffee roastery and a coworking space. We host live music, community events, craft nights, and private functions. Our team is cross-trained to serve any and all products available in the cafe.
Job description
Do you love coffee? Are you passionate about serving one of the most consumed products on the planet? Do you like working with the public? Then join us! We are looking for the next member of our team at The Place Above the Notch. Duties will include:
- Serving top notch coffees - espressos, lattes, cappuccinos, brewed coffee, loose leaf teas, matcha, and other specialty drinks.
- Slinging New York Bagels - yes, we bring our bagels in straight from New York City every week. We whip up our own cream cheese and provide a number of fresh add-ons (cucumbers, tomatoes, chives, etc.) to make every bagel unique and delicious.
- Serve each customer with a smile - we greet each customer that comes in, use Toast to take orders, and deliver orders to the table for anyone dining in.
- Keep up a tidy place - we have 2 large dining areas that are so comfortable, people stay all day. They are also family-friendly with toys, books, and games. We pride ourselves in keeping these areas clean and tidy.
Each staff person is cross-trained to serve at each station (Taking Orders/Bar Back, Bagel Making, Barista). We do provide training on all of these stations, but are looking for someone who has experience in the food industry and specifically being a barista.
Compensation
this position is: hourly, $20/hr +
