Job description
THE ROLE
We are looking for a warm, engaging and responsible Retail Sales Associate to join our team.
This is an ideal position for someone who genuinely enjoys working with people, has a natural sense of hospitality and is curious about tea, food, design and craft.
You do not need to arrive as a tea expert—we will teach you. What matters is an eagerness to learn and the ability to translate that knowledge into an engaging and memorable experience for our customers.
We are a small, independent company, so everyone contributes. We value people who take initiative, care about the details and naturally notice what needs attention.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
-Welcome customers and provide warm, attentive and knowledgeable service
- Learn the Bellocq collection and confidently guide customers through tea selections, preparation and gifting
- Prepare and offer tea tastings
- Build relationships with neighborhood regulars and returning customers
- Maintain Bellocq’s visual standards and keep the atelier beautiful, clean and organized
- Handle point-of-sale transactions accurately and efficiently
- Assist with opening, closing, merchandising and inventory
- Support in-store tastings, seasonal launches and special events
- Assist the wider Bellocq team with occasional projects and production needs
- Contribute to individual and store sales goals
ABOUT YOU
You are warm, articulate and genuinely enjoy helping people. You are comfortable initiating a conversation and have the intuition to know when a customer wants guidance—and when they simply want space to explore.
You are dependable and self-directed. You follow through, take pride in your surroundings and naturally notice what needs attention.
We’re looking for:
-Retail, hospitality or customer-service experience
- Excellent communication skills
- A warm, polished and professional presence
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- The ability to remain calm and gracious in a busy environment
- Confidence working independently and collaboratively
- An interest in tea, food, hospitality, design or craft
- A genuine desire to learn
- Prior tea knowledge is not required. Curiosity is.
For the right person, there is opportunity to grow within Bellocq and take on greater responsibility over time.
