Field Supply Wine is opening a tasting room on Warren Street in Hudson, NY: a place to pour our own natural wines alongside some of New York's most talented craft beverage producers, in a listening bar style space made for lingering and conversation.

We're looking for creative, collaborative people with real enthusiasm for natural wine, music and culture. At the heart of the space is the tasting experience, supported by a small plates menu, careful music curation, and a considered selection of wine and wares to take home.

Some roles will call for in-depth knowledge of wine, coffee and bar service, and every role comes with room to grow alongside the business. We're committed to ongoing training for the whole team, in natural wine, as well as experiential hospitality, third wave coffee and music.

Job description

Shifts Available: Thu/Fri/Sat/Sun/Mon/Tue - 4pm-10pm
Note: Pay rate of $22-$30/hr is an estimated total of base hourly + equitable share of pooled tips

Our server position is a great entry level position to learn and grow with a small team! Responsibilities for this position include:

• Guest Engagement: Greeting guests and guiding them to preferred seating.
• Balancing an elevated and enveloping experience with a laid back, inviting atmosphere.
• Guiding patrons through the food and beverage menus.
• Taking and sending short orders from guests in the room.
• Food and drink running: Handling trays with multiple drinks.
• Tasting guests on wine, tableside.
• Running correct items to patrons in a calm and timely manner.
• Closing out guest checks.
• Managing surface space by clearing tables of empty glass/plate/flatware throughout a patrons visit.
• Cleaning and resetting guest seating and surfaces between visits.
• Assisting bar staff with ware washing and glass polishing, clearing and resetting bar seats.
• Retail: Checking out guests, ensuring the retail section is organized and merchandise is inventoried to set standards
• Clear communication with the team in and out of service.

Skills and qualifications:
Must have some degree of serving experience. However, we will train anyone willing to learn! This is not a traditional dining server role. If you lack any of the following experience, don’t let it deter you. Personality and determination hold more value than outright experience.

• Understanding of natural wine, wine terminology, serving methods.
• Understanding of craft cocktails, spirits, terminology.
• An understanding of food allergens and how to effectively communicate sensitivities to guests and food prep staff.
• Personable, engaging and helpful with guests and co-workers.
• A strong communicator.
• Best practices in safely serving food & alcohol.
• Understanding of basic health, safety, and hygiene standards.
• Ability to take direction and learn on the fly.
• Collective worker - this is a small staff and we all support each other with an “all hands” mindset.
• Food handling certifications are a plus.
• Experience with Square is also a plus.
• Record collectors and music nerds are definitely a plus!
• An inclusive and nonjudgemental attitude towards co-workers and guests is a must.
