Company description
TAMAMURI is a nonprofit reimagining a historic 300-acre campus in Arizona’s high desert as a destination for learning, creativity, and connection to the natural world. With more than 100 existing buildings, a market garden, 200-tree orchard, vineyard, and expansive open land, the campus is being brought back to life as a place for immersive programs, retreats, residencies, and gatherings centered on food, ecology, land stewardship, practical skills, and the arts. We are in an exciting early stage, restoring the campus, building an exceptional founding team, developing partnerships and programs, and creating the systems that will shape TAMAMURI for years to come. For the right person, this is a rare opportunity to help build a mission-driven organization and extraordinary place from the ground up.

Finance & Administration
- Lead day-to-day financial administration in coordination with the Executive Director and outside accounting professionals.

- Oversee systems for TAMAMURI’s buildings, utilities, vehicles, equipment, and physical infrastructure.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
You may be a strong fit if you see a young organization with enormous potential and immediately start thinking about how to make it all work. You enjoy creating structure without unnecessary bureaucracy and are as comfortable developing a budget as walking the property with a contractor or solving problems alongside our culinary, agriculture, and program teams.
You’re a clear communicator who takes ownership, makes thoughtful decisions, and knows when to bring others into the conversation.
QUALIFICATIONS
We’re looking for:
- 7+ years of progressively responsible operations leadership experience, ideally involving complex or multi-functional operations.
- Demonstrated experience building or significantly improving organizational systems and processes.
- Experience managing budgets, financial administration, and organizational resources.
- Experience leading teams and managing staff.
- Strong project-management and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to manage multiple complex priorities without losing sight of details or the larger goal.
- Excellent communication, organization, documentation, and follow-through.
- Strong judgment, discretion, integrity, and financial stewardship.
- Comfort working both strategically and hands-on.
- Enthusiasm for building an organization during an early and evolving stage.
Especially valuable, but not required:
Experience in nonprofits, hospitality, education, agriculture, food systems, retreat centers, campuses, or other mission-driven organizations; facilities or multi-building property management; nonprofit finance and compliance; HR administration; hospitality or event operations; and/or startup or organizational growth environments.
The Opportunity
TAMAMURI is at a formative moment. The campus already exists; the organization and programs that will animate it are now being built.
This role offers the opportunity to help shape not only how TAMAMURI operates today, but the systems, culture, and organizational foundation it will carry forward as it grows.
We’re looking for someone who wants to build something meaningful, believes deeply in healthy and responsible stewardship of both resources and place, and is excited by the challenge of helping an extraordinary place reach its highest potential.
