Job description

The Store Associate is responsible for providing excellent customer service and supporting the daily operation of the store. This hands-on position assists with stocking shelves, inventory organization, ringing out transactions on the POS, and maintaining a welcoming environment for customers.

Responsibilities

Customer Service and Store Operations:

• Greet customers and provide friendly, helpful service.
• Operate the POS system and accurately process cash and credit card payments.
• Handle customer questions and concerns professionally and refer issues to management when appropriate.
• Stock shelves, coolers, freezers, and other displays.
• Rotate products and check dates to maintain freshness and reduce product waste.
• Assist with inventory counts and restocking as needed.
• Follow all opening, closing, and daily operating procedures.
• Report damaged products, equipment problems, spills, or other concerns to management.
• Work cooperatively with management and other employees.
• Complete assigned tasks efficiently and on time.
• Support coworkers during busy periods and help maintain appropriate store standards.
• Demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and a strong work ethic.

Kitchen Support:

• Prepare made-to-order sandwiches according to customer requests and established recipes.
• Assist with preparing, packaging, labeling, and stocking food for the Grab-and-Go station.
• Follow established recipes, portion standards, and quality guidelines to ensure consistency.
• Monitor food freshness, expiration dates, and product quality.
• Restock kitchen supplies, ingredients, and packaging as needed.
• Follow all food preparation and safety regulations.
• Maintain a clean and safe workstation at all times.

Skills and Qualifications

• Previous grocery, convenience store, retail, or customer service experience preferred but not required.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Friendly, dependable, and customer-focused attitude.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to lift and move products as required.
• Cash-handling experience preferred.
• Food Safety Certification preferred.

Compensation

this position is: hourly, $15-20/hr
