We sell directly to our community through our farm store, local restaurants, and wholesale accounts.
Job description
Anavery Fine Foods is looking for a hardworking, responsible person to join our team on a growing, diversified livestock farm in Grand Traverse County. Our farm’s mission is to produce great-tasting meat and eggs raised in a way that we can be proud of - we believe that Happy Animals Taste Better.
We seek a reliable, hardworking Distribution Assistant to support our growing wholesale and direct-to-consumer operations. This role is hands-on and essential to getting high-quality, locally raised meat from our farm to our customers. This position will be based on our farm in Traverse City four days a week, and will be on the road delivering orders for MiFarm Coop one day a week.
Key Responsibilities
- Pack, prepare and deliver wholesale meat orders accurately and efficiently
- Pack, prepare and deliver wholesale produce orders accurately and efficiently
- Receive, organize, and store all meat deliveries from our processors
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of freezers, coolers, and packing areas
- Load, unload, and deliver customer and wholesale orders as scheduled
- Work in the farm store assisting customers, restocking products, and maintaining a clean, welcoming retail space
- Assist with farmers markets during summer months, including setup, breakdown, and customer interaction
- Follow all food safety and handling procedures
- Support general distribution and farm store operations as needed
Requirements
- Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly
- Comfortable working in cold temperatures (coolers and freezers)
- Valid driver’s license
- Dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
- Weekend availability required during peak seasons
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in food handling, distribution, agriculture, or retail
Farmers market or customer-facing experience
- Familiarity with safe food handling practices
